Vivid shades of pink and red sweep across the composition, creating a dynamic sense of movement. The satin texture and abstract nature of the photo gives it an impressionistic feel, transforming the brightly colored filaments of the Pink Fairy Duster flowers into a fiery display.
The Sonoran Desert surrounding Tucson, Arizona has been awash in these beautiful hues during the spring of 2024, inviting me to offer this radically different interpretation of this remarkable and vivid flower.
For some time I have been exploring the concept of using the light and energy passing through the lens of my camera to "paint" an image. I had a vision, but was blind to it until I developed a method to add time and motion to the equation. "Pink Fairy Duster Flowers Afire" is a product of this quest and technique. It transformed a brilliant bloom of pink fairy duster flowers, found on a windy spring afternoon in the Tucson Mountains west of Tucson, Arizona into fantastic, wind driven apparition, quite impossible to perceive with the human eye.

"Pink Fairy Duster Flowers Afire" will make an extraordinary and bold statement on any wall, and is created solely by a photographic technique relying on the focused light and energy of a single exposure in the camera to offer a different visual reality... A reality of light through time and motion.
"Pink Fairy Duster Flowers Afire" will also make for a delightfully colorful and difficult jigsaw puzzle. More photographs utilizing this unique technique will be found in my Creative Photography collections.

The Pink(s) are heavenly , loving their hues, the shadows, too, and, their delicate softness: all the attributes as has the 'model', Pink Fairy Duster, here like a huge beautiful 'flag' to Nature's whims, patterns, the gentle waves of shades so calming/beautiful. I'd also love this with the throw pillows, and a huge sheet-like 'throw', together, as accents of beauty in a garden room, study, a la Fairy Duster herself in the wide open landscape.
